There is an interesting Potential system where if you have Potentials from two different classes, you can automatically unlock a third, more powerful Potential. The class change system from VC2 has been simplified and expanded: all characters can now switch to any class and there are no branching promotions. I am slightly disappointed that most (if not all) of the maps are recycled from VC2. But if you're like me, that's exactly what you want.
If you liked Valkyria Chronicles 2, this is more of the same. YMMV, but if you have the ability to apply the fan translation patch (which I won't link here, but it's easily found), it is well worth the money, and the wait!
